Take One, Day 22 :: Polka Dot Shirt

Let's talk about this shirt. Looking at the photos, it occurs to me it might not be the most flattering piece I own. But in real life, it's SO CUTE YOU GUYS. I guess I'm stuck on spots lately. I picked this up from XXI for the specific idea that I'd wear it to this meeting, and I was glad to have it this week.

I threw on these burgundy cords after we finished work stuff and walked to meet some of my co-workers at Easy Tiger, this cool little beer garden type place with ping pong tables and giant delicious pretzels. Then BB and I walked all over downtown Austin looking for some place to eat, so I put these wedge sneakers through the ringer and I'm happy to report they're still ridiculously comfortable.

AJ Wears :: Work Clothes

I love traveling for work, because I get a chance to make use of all of my business casual wear. We're actually very relaxed at my job, it's hardly a suit-and-tie establishment. But I still like to dress to impress, and I really wanted to wear this new mustard skirt I just bought.

I'm aware the skirt's length might be giving some of you an uh-oh feeling, but I would feign cluelessness, followed by "I'm short" and "That's why I wore tights" if confronted. Besides, like I said, it's pretty casual. I wore this ensemble sans jacket for the day, then added the leather for an evening reception. PS - Leopard + Mustard together, perfection. Am I right? Later that evening, I switched back into my wedge boots from yesterday, swapped the blouse for a casual tee, and topped it off with a scarf for a more laid back look (You'll see that later).

Skirt, The Limited (on sale for $25!).

What I Wore :: Hello, 2013!

Happy New Year, everyone! I rang in the new year with my dearest friends last night.

I think NYE might be one of my favorite fashion holidays because of my love of sequins. I can't resist wearing something sparkly and fun. Last night was no exception, of course. I found a jazzy little number last minute at Francesca's on super clearance.

 Sparkles + Fur is like, a whole new level.

 Previously mentioned jacket. It was cold, y'all. Last year we sat on the patio on NYE. This year we still have snow on the ground.

 Booties + tights was a popular choice! Those stems belong to me, Elizabeth, and Amy.

 Elizabeth looking sassy in her sparkly frock. Clearly we had the same idea. Also, isn't her bun perfection? She looks like something you'd repin on Pinterest.

 And last but not least, my adorable hubs. Last year, we got engaged on New Years Eve. This year, we're married. It's been a crazy fun year for us! He was looking pretty jazzy himself in his layers.

Sneaking a smooch in before midnight! Happy New Year to all!
