Snapshots :: Sometimes I Run

Happy Monday! I don't know about you, but I had a heck of a busy weekend. Birthday parties, 5ks, eating until I popped...yup, I think I have it all covered.

Friday our new furniture came...huzzah! Finally a place to sit. This house feels like it's coming together (I absolutely love our new rug)

Saturday proved to be a fun adventure - my friends an I ran in the Color Run 5K downtown! I had seen Color Run photos before but have never participated. It was ridiculously fun. Basically, you run normally but there are four stops during the race where they pummel you with brightly dyed cornstarch so by the end you're just a disaster. It was a blast.

Obligatory jumping shot in front of the bridge. This is probably worth framing.

Saturday night a celebration of a dear friend's birthday at The Capital Hotel, which calls for a simple LBD and a fabulous statement collar to go with one of the best burgers in Little Rock (and fancy cocktails, of course). I didn't have time to snap an outfit post before the sun went down, but here's a little snapshot of the outfit (Dress, Express. Shoes, Sole Society. Clutch, JF. Collar, JewelMint).

Sunday it was all about being as lazy as possible. I caught up on The Voice from last week, goofed around online, and played with my dear pup.

Then it was on to another birthday party which we were all having too much fun at to get any photos. Aren't those the best times?

How was your weekend???

What I Wore :: Woo Pig Sooie!

Every year, Arkansas hosts two football games in Little Rock because it has a large population and no professional teams, so we get a little over zealous about the Hogs. It's a HUGE tailgate opportunity! It's always a blast to set up on the golf course and spend all day traipsing from hole to hole trying to meet up with all of your friends.

The thing about tailgate attire is, it has to be SOMEWHAT practical. I saw a girl walking around in knee-high heeled boots, tights, and the shortest skirt I've ever seen. Sorry girlfriend, it's still too warm for boots and tights, I don't care how much of the rest of you isn't covered up. The tricky thing is finding something cool, comfortable, but still cute enough to stand out in a sea of red.

This is my favorite tailgating skirt. It's probably not the most practical thing for being outdoors because of it's length, but I wear my cutie little razorback boyshorts underneath to cover my bases. I went full-on monochromatic with my striped shirt and chunky jewelry, which I think is okay because it's a festive occasion. I have worn this skirt to the past few warmer tailgates with different tops, and it's always a big hit. I love surprising people when they ask where I got it - the secret is, I actually made it myself! Isn't sewing handy?

Look, we match. We match EVERYONE.

Look at this adorable chandelier our friend Keely made for the tailgate tent!! So adorable, right? It lit up and everything. We do it classy, y'all.

I know we were all a little disappointed when the Hogs ended up losing (okay, it was probably more than a little!) but I still support my team. Or at least watching sports outdoors in gorgeous pre-fall weather. Tailgating is the best.

And here's a little Sunday sunshine for you, my miserable pug in her new Razorback costume. HOW CUTE is that?? I don't think she likes it very much, but I can't stop laughing. Woo pug sooie!

Snapshots :: A Weekend of Wedding

Whew! Weddings are fun. But they're exhausting. My parents came up for the weekend to attend a shower put on by some friends we have on Twitter and we spent our free time eating amazing food and trying to put some more pieces together for this wedding (which is SIX WEEKS AWAY).

Adorable wedding themed cookies from Sweet Love Bakes that were as delicious as they were presh.

Wedding color flowers and amazing tarts at the shower - those chocolate ones had salted caramel under all of that chocolate. GENIUS.

Amazing Sunday lunch at Big Orange. Who wouldn't want a burger with an egg on top of it?

After a trip to Party City, I've decided the new theme of my wedding is MINI SOMBREROS.

Gratuitous picture of my pug. She was really enjoying last night's Closing Ceremonies. Except the Spice Girls. I don't think she liked them much.

What did YOU guys do this weekend??
