AJ Wears :: A studded denim jacket

Today's ensemble is slightly inspired - I picked up this studded denim at H&M over the weekend and love how fun it is. It's soft and stretchy so it's ridiculously comfy, but the studs give it that funky edge I'm always looking for. Did I need another denim jacket? Shhhhhh. No. This one is totally different.

Look what came in while I was gone! After stalking eBay for a month or so, I finally snagged a vintage Coach Legacy bag (this one is Station). Extra Petite did a whole blog about the subject, and I had no idea that you could even FIND something like this on eBay. And after seeing Fran restore her vintage Coach, I knew I had to at least TRY it. Luckily, this bag was in pretty good condition and only needs a little work. I used some of the Coach moisturizer on it to clean it up and I might attempt repair (and flattening that front tab) in the future, but for now, it's the perfect size bag for around town.

Take One, Day 1 :: A Cozy Tribal Sweater

The original title of this post was "A Tribe Called Quest Print Love" but since that's actually really dumb, I simplified it. Look! Urban Outfitters sends you stickers in the mail when you order a pretty sweater!

So today is the first day of Take One, Pass it On, and I decided to wear a ton of new things all at once because I simply cannot wait for them to all have their turns. I can name three bloggers off the top of my head who encouraged me to buy this sweater simply by posting adorable pictures of them in it and talking about how comfortable it is. I'm always looking for what I call an "airport sweater", which is a cozy wrap sweater that feels like a snuggie but looks like a fashion statement. I don't care if I never wear anything else. I love this thing.

And these boots! I added them to a growing collection of boots that make me feel far cooler than I actually am. They feel so European. I've never been to Europe, so I actually can't even make that comparison, but whatever. All the countries I've been to you didn't even have to wear shoes. What I'm saying is - these things are cool.

The end of this story is, I wore this to Texas Roadhouse, ate a huge piece of meat, and I'm going to use the Take One Remix Challenge as an excuse to wear this bad boy again tomorrow. BOOM.

AJ Wears :: A Winter Maxi

I jumped on the maxi bandwagon pretty much when they first came "in" - which means I purchased several questionably shaped and horribly patterned maxi dresses from Target that were more appropriate for a trip to the pool than the mall. I've since wised up and learned that if you're going to have a giant bag covering 95% of your body, at least make sure it's not ruffled, patterned, or ugly.

Thankfully, this EShakti skirt is none of those things. Look at that gorgeous pleating! It adds just enough interest that it's not a lumpy giant bag (love the defined waist). It is about 5 inches too long, though, which is totally my fault. EShakti actually lets you custom order any of their clothes, so instead of just ordering my standard size, I could have ordered it in a length more suited to someone 5'2". Oops. Instead, I'm wearing my highest heels here. I might hem it for summer so I can wear flat sandals underneath. Oh, I'm forgetting the best part. POCKETS.

What's the consensus on the maxi skirt? Should it just be saved for summer, or can we layer it up for other seasons?
