AJ Wears :: A Black Tunic

This is one of those outfits that there's not much to write home about, but I loved wearing. Consider this a "shopping blogger" post, because I'm about to recommend almost everything I'm wearing.

Of course, I'm in those Old Navy jeggings again. Can't stop, won't stop, I have two more colors on the way. I'm actually becoming a horrible creature of habit with buying multiples. I also bought this tunic in both black and olive after a recommendation from The Sweetest Thing, and I regret NOTHING. It's actually long enough for leggings, has a flattering cut, and will look great under some vests this fall. I've already worn it twice and just got it last week.

And of course, the boots. JustFab sent them to review and I think they are too, too cool. I love the chunky heel and exposed zipper - they're just a little more casual than my other boots, so they'll get some good wear. It's available in wide-calf (which I'm wearing) as well as regular, and I recommend going up at least 1/2 a size.

Tunic, Nordstrom (on sale!).
Jeggings, Old Navy (exact - I'm wearing 8P).
Boots, c/o JustFab (Lyrica - I'm wearing a 7.5 in wide calf).
Bag, 3.1 Phillip Lim (exact // love this cobalt bag from 6pm for less!).
Glasses, Karen Walker Harvest (exact // almost identical for $8!).

AJ Wears :: A White Tunic

Have you noticed how long the hemlines on tops are right now? We've skipped past tunics into near dress territory with blouses, vests, and cardigans and I am in LOVE. If you have been wondering how to work leggings into your summer wardrobe, this is it! Breezy white tunics are the grape jelly on my chicken biscuit, which are why I prefer something that covers my butt these days.

Tunic, ASOS (exact).
Leggings, H&M (similar from Macy's).
Bag, Moschino Cheap & Chic c/o Shopbop.
Heels, Miu Miu (similar from Jessica Simpson).

And if you want to join the white tunic club (and I think you dooooo) here are a few options I found at Shopbop:

AJ Wears :: A flowy tunic

Sometimes, you just feel like wearing things that are easy, breezy, and don't touch your body. Like fancy pajamas. This tunic definitely fit the bill for a busy work day, and I think I've discovered the fine line between frumpy and fabulous - it's the fabric.  If this were just a t-shirt, I'd look like I came to work in my Tweety Bird night gown because of its over-sized nature and length. But in crepe de chine, whatever the heck that is, just add heels and you've got yourself an OUTFIT. I wish I could show you the movement of this fabric. It flows very nicely when you walk so you still feel dressed up and special. I feel like I'm describing what I'm wearing on the radio right now. Yes, I do that sometimes.

The end of the story is, Happy May! I celebrated by being as drab as possible.
