Happy First Day of Decorative Gourd Season, y'all. Don't go too crazy with the pumpkin spice everything, and try to keep your layer maximum to three. Is it time for boots yet? NO. Save that stuff for October, especially if your highs are still in the 80's. But feel free to throw on a light jacket in the mornings and evenings and I won't judge you if you already have a wreath made of leaves on your door. If the calendar says it's so, it is. So get your fall on, bros.
I love a good LBD, and I love a good party. I'm excited that I got to enjoy both this weekend. My friends and I celebrated 100 years of the Fine Arts Club at the Beaux Arts Ball at the Arkansas Arts Center. It was gorgeous! I took the opportunity to rent this little number from RTR. I've been renting from them a lot lately, and for whatever reason didn't get a good photo (It was probably pouring. It has been for THREE WEEKS), so I made BB snap this really quick when the rain let up slightly. They're all just too pretty not to share.
Sunday night, I took the time to do a little outfit planning for the week. I thought about what I wanted to wear, pulled the pieces, and then grouped them in 5-6 outfits to choose from. So this morning when I woke up and didn't want to think too much about getting dressed, I only had to decide which combination to wear today. I hope I can maintain this practice in some shape or form because it makes mornings a lot more manageable. The trick is to make sure there's enough variety in your choices that you don't change your mind entirely by the time you're ready to get dressed each day. For me, that meant a variety of colors, pant shapes (ankle vs wide leg) and a sprinkling of skirts. Yes, I said sprinkling. Because I'm nerdy.
