AJ Wears :: A Black Peplum

I've been through a few black peplum tops. I outgrew my pleather one (probably too small to begin with) and the one I bought from H&M always felt too snug to be truly comfortable. So I added this one to my bag for a mere $27 when I was ordering some sweaters from Last Call a few weeks ago, and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. Full, dramatic skirt. Sheer details. Gorgeous floral texture. For work, I have to layer a black tank underneath to counteract the sheer front and cover up bra straps in the back, but it doesn't take away from how pretty the top is. I wore this to work with a tweed jacket for day, then ditched the jacket for dinner with friends at night. I've always been a fan of the all black look, but have never felt truly comfortable in it until this outfit!

Top, Romeo & Juliet Couture via Last Call (s/o online - similar).

PS - both of the tops I linked are now up on Pose if you're interested.

AJ Wears :: A Grey Tank

Grey or gray? What's your preference? I go back and forth. ANYWHO, I cannot believe it is September. September is a tough month in Arkansas because you get all wistful and start fantasizing about fall clothes, but it remains firmly in the 80s and 90s around here anyway, like the South never got the memo that the September issue of InStyle has been released. So I'll work hard to create all of those "transitional" outfits people seem to think exist, when in reality I'm bundled up against some strong AC indoors and immediately strip most of my layers before I get to my car in the afternoons. Because I'm a good blogger, I photoshopped the sweat drops off of this practically perfect tank from Everlane before I posted these photos. I'm usually all about keeping it real, but reality is sweaty, and nobody likes that.

So, these shoes are ridiculous and amazing. My friend Sandra works with a bunch of fashion-forward gals at Little Rock Soiree, and one reached out to me about buying these SUPER discounted because she couldn't walk in them. I'm not one to turn down a challenge, so I snatched them up. My designer shoe collection is basically me just buying people's shoes for cheap after they discover they're terrible at walking in heels. One girl's fear of heights is my closet's gain!

How gorgeous is the color of this bag from Gregory Sylvia? They reached out to me last week to see if I'd be interested in trying out one of their bags. It's very well made and the leather is lovely - there's plenty of room inside for all of my work needs. Gregory Sylvia is a fairly new company, but they make some gorgeous bags - I'm a fan. They have some crossbody bags I was eyeing on the website when I went to find the link for this one that are SO ultimate cool girl.
