Day to Night :: Little Blue Dress

It's the oldest trick in the book. Have dress, add jacket, it's for work! Ditch jacket, it's for happy hour! I know the mags have been suggesting this for years, but I always love to see a day-to-night situation in action.

I wore this dress and jacket to work, and then tossed the jacket to show off the sheer cut-outs for dinner with friends. The purse swap was a quick fix too, since I just tossed it in my larger bag. There's no rocket science here. It's just planning your outfit for the whole day, instead of just your first event.

AJ Wears :: A Glitzy LBD

I love a good LBD, and I love a good party. I'm excited that I got to enjoy both this weekend. My friends and I celebrated 100 years of the Fine Arts Club at the Beaux Arts Ball at the Arkansas Arts Center. It was gorgeous! I took the opportunity to rent this little number from RTR. I've been renting from them a lot lately, and for whatever reason didn't get a good photo (It was probably pouring. It has been for THREE WEEKS), so I made BB snap this really quick when the rain let up slightly. They're all just too pretty not to share.

Bonus photo. A quick snapshot of me & my beaux at the Ball. He's a good date. And if you're looking for a very handsome navy suit, BB is wearing Express!

What I Wore :: Ladies Night Out

Remember how I was talking up Ladies Night Out at the Promenade at Chenal last week? Well, the event did not disappoint! They definitely went all out this year - even a little rain didn't deter the show. I had to hop over there straight after work, so I chose an outfit that was conservative enough for work, but fun enough for play. Jeans + Blazer, done.

Here are a few snap shots from the show. It ended up POURING right in the middle of the fashion show, but the crowd stuck around! Those with umbrellas stayed put, and the rest of us lined up under the awnings nearby. I kind of loved taking photos of the fashion show with all of the colorful umbrellas everywhere. It definitely made for an interesting evening. They pulled it off, though - the music was great, and based on the number of people that stuck around to see who won the raffle prizes, I'm sure they raised a good amount of money for Ronald McDonald House.

After the fashion show, we hopped over to YaYa's for an INCREDIBLE dinner. Perfect girls night on the town. Thanks to the Promenade for having us out!
