AJ Wears :: A Black Maxi

There are a few things that all girls say when someone compliments them.

1. "Thank you! I got it at (weird store, like Walmart), can you believe it?"

2. "Oh my gosh, thank you. This thing was like, $7."

3. "It has pockets!"

Yes, my friends, this lovely structured shift has pockets, a magical feature most gals can't keep to themselves. They held nothing but my hand as I posed for these pictures or stood awkwardly waiting for someone to tell me what to do, but everyone knows: Pockets on a skirt or dress make it instantly 1000x better.

AJ Wears :: A Vest & Maxi

Making a summer maxi work appropriate is often as easy as adding a layer. And then, you're sitting at your desk in a giant bag and it's just GLORIOUS. This particular maxi has been a bit of a wardrobe workhorse this summer, and it's currently on sale! I'm wearing it in the short length (I'm 5'2") which has been perfect for flats or low wedges. My friend Amy wore this same dress in a citron color when we were in Dallas and got at LEAST 15 compliments. It's goooooood.

AJ Wears :: A Black Maxi

This is THE maxi dress of summer. And winter, for that matter. FOUR of my friends have this exact same dress in different colors, so brunch gets weird sometimes, but it's perfect. Honestly, I've always had trouble with maxi dresses (short girl problems); They felt frumpy and LONG, much more suited for the beach than a night out. After buying this, I realized why. It's all about fabric! This dress is so breezy and fantastic, I could wear it every day. PS - it comes in short, which is probably another reason I love it so much.

Dress, Victoria's Secret (exact, on sale & six colors!).
Necklace, BaubleBar (exact).
Sandals, ShoeMint (similar from Macy's).
