AJ Wears :: A Blanket Poncho

One of the most magical things about cooler weather is that fashion transforms into wonderful, baggy, shapeless warmth blankets that are acceptable to wear in public. I don't know why this is okay, but I fully embrace it. The key to making your blanket scarves and drapey ponchos more public appropriate is to pair them with structured pieces like a long button up or classic boots...or both.

More Times I've Worn Blanket Plaids:

AJ Wears :: A Floral Scarf

Sometimes, there are outfits that aren't anything special. I'm just wearing a striped tee, jeans, and a trench, but I LOVE this outfit. I actually wore it to brunch a few weeks ago with different shoes, and once I got these cute little flats I knew there would be a repeat. And hey, you didn't see me in it, so really... If I didn't blog it, did it even happen?

Coat, Coach (similar from Romwe).
Top, LOFT (similar from XXI).
Jeans, Hudson (exact).
Flats,c/o JustFab (exact).
Scarf, Target (similar from Target).

AJ Wears :: A Splatter Print Skirt

I have a hard time endorsing any of the shady (usually foreign) clothing websites. Quality is lacking, shipping takes forever, and sizes are all over the board. But let's face it, they can be a GREAT source for something super cheap and unique. So occasionally, I'll take a leap of faith and hope it pays off. This time it did - not only was the shipping crazy fast, this skirt is actually a winner. It's a great dupe for this Tibi number I always regretted not splurging on, but for like...$15. When midi skirts go out, I'll probably have it hemmed above the knee and just keep on wearing it.

Pardon the fuzziness, but these shoes are also something I missed out on and found later, for cheaper. JustFab has them in both black and red, and they could not be more perfect for the holidays! I would jump on these (the name is Hadley) because I bet they'll sell out quickly.

Skirt, SheInside (exact).
Top, Loft (similar from Loft).
Jacket, Kenneth Cole (faux similar from XXI, similar leather from Nordstrom).
Heels, c/o JustFab (Hadley - exact).
Bag, 3.1 Phillip Lim.
Necklace, c/o RocksBox (love this service - more about that later).
