AJ Wears :: A Fluffy Red Coat

I’ve officially dubbed this coat “The Elmo Coat.” It’s ridiculous, it’s bright, it’s actually SUPER warm. You’ve already seen it on Instagram a few times if you follow me there.

I wore this out one night and the restaurant hostess said I looked like Cruella de Ville, if she lived on Sesame Street. AND I. AM. HERE FOR IT.

The thing about wearing a super fluffy coat is that people want to pet you. As long as you’re prepared for that, it’s otherwise a fun and rewarding experience. You also have to be prepared for constant whispers behind your back. Some will love it, some will hate it. Some will try to pose with you, thinking you’re the Times Square Elmo. Own it, girlfriend.

AJ Wears :: A Blue Suit

I've been obsessed with The Bold Type since Hulu recommended it to me a few months ago. If you haven't picked up this show yet, it's like The Devil Wears Prada: The TV show. The fashion is awesome, the storylines are interesting, and the characters are lovable. Yes, even Jan from The Office - she's actually one of the coolest people on the whole show, playing Jaqueline, the editor-in-chief of the magazine where they all work. She's what Miranda Priestly would have been if she'd been allowed to show feelings (or have half a heart).

I'm feeling very Bold Type today. I saw a video of a girl in a blue suit recently and immediately thought, "Oh hey, I need a bright suit." I actually picked this one up from JustFab of all places (it comes in pink too!) and immediately felt like a Jaqueline-meets-HRC vibe. I mean, I only went to work and Happy Hour, but I'm ready to run whatever business you may need me to. Lemme know.

Side note: I also have been VERY inspired by The Bold Type to up my wardrobe game going into fall. I'm talking colors, I'm talking patterns, I'm talking weird puffy sleeves. I filled a cart full of Jane, Kat, and Sutton inspired tops so get ready for some realllllll weirdness up on the blog.

AJ Wears :: A Bunch of Old Navy

Oh hiiiiiiiiiiiii there. Happy Friday.

To say that I've been slacking in my extra-curricular department lately would be an understatement. I either need to cut down on jobs, hobbies, or both. Or perhaps I should just quit sleeping? It's honestly cutting into my video games and Sephora shopping schedule.

Speaking of Sephora, you can tell I'm getting old, because I bought alllllllll skincare from the Rouge preview sale (20% of Rouge with code YESROUGE). Drunk Elephant, Dr. Jart+, and Peter Thomas Roth, come to me. Let us hydrate together. Since I couldn't let myself not do at least something fun, I added some falsie tweezers from Tarte into my basket. Truly, truly going wild.

Anyway, here's something I wore to work because it's still hot. It's all from Old Navy because they have comfortable clothes and I don't like things touching my body right now. I saw a woman yesterday wearing full pants, long sleeves, and knee high boots and I thought lady...calm down.
