AJ Wears :: Mom Jeans

I never thought I’d willingly seek out mom jeans as a fashion choice, but here we are. I’ve been a little obsessed with Anine Bing and her style, and the whole tucked in tee and high waisted jeans aesthetic was really resonating with me, so when I saw these jeans on sale I had to try them.

Of course, they had to be shortened. And they ended up taking in the waist too to make them fit absolutely perfect - and I. Love. Them. By wearing them with a bodysuit, I truly transported myself back to the 90s and lived like an extra on the Friends set for a day.

Except I left “The Rachel” back in 1995. What a mistake that one was.

AJ Wears :: Trouser Jeans

Fun fact time! About 7 or so years ago, I was a manager at The Limited. I'd say about 70% of my closet was Limited by the time I left, including a gorgeous pair of trouser jeans in a teensy size 2. Life happens and I eventually grew out of those amazing jeans, which were absolutely perfect for work, weekend and beyond.

When I saw these at The Limited last week, I almost couldn't believe it. The cut has modernized slightly, but the bones are still there. A deep blue wash, pleated front, and a fabulous wide leg (at 40% off, of course). Paired with my favorite Schoolboy blazer from J.Crew? Fall work wear magic, people.

AJ Wears :: Slip-on Sneakers

I always make a conscious effort to not look like a total hot mess in public. I don't always succeed, but even when I'm not planning on blogging an outfit I like to be somewhat put together. This weekend was full of festivities, from canoeing down the Caddo River to watching my friends Amy and Elizabeth play kickball. Comfort is key on these sorts of days, so I'm glad that cute sneakers are all over the place this season.

Also, I'm thrilled that slip-on sneakers are back. Mmmm, smells like high school. OnlineShoes.com sent me this pair to review and the verdict is - I love them. They're super comfy and way cute. I actually just went to look up the link for these and found a bright pink pair I want now. Go figure. Anyone else loving on these style sneakers right now?
