I'm having a bit of a love affair with black pants lately; I plan to write an entire ode to them soon. While you wait, consider this slouchy pair. There's something so irresistibly cool about a pair of relaxed black pants that I couldn't resist, especially a pair with a high waist. However, the drawback is that you give up a cute booty for the smaller-looking waist. Illusion of tiny waist in the front, giant saggy butt in the back. I can only see myself from the front though, so I'm pretty okay with this.
Something crazy happened in the past year. I realized that pants with high waists were WAY more comfortable than other pants were. I had the epiphany when I bought Hudson Jeans in the Barbara cut. They go all the way up my hips, which means there's no muffin top. They're also easy to sit in all day. Whether crisp trousers, slouchy harem-style pants or a high rise jean, I'm slowly replacing my uncomfortable pants with styles that clear my belly button. No shame.
So in my search to expand my high rise collection, I went back and found some of my favorite outfits using a higher waistline! (Sorry to anyone on RSS - there's a nifty slideshow if you click through)
