AJ Wears :: A Short Suit

It does not matter how much I plan, I cannot get my blog photos together for some reason. A few weeks ago, I planned a big blog photo day, only to realize I didn’t have the plate to connect my camera to my tripod. Another time, I couldn’t find the remote. And yesterday, I pulled out a fully exhausted battery, despite having taken no photos (my backup batteries must have been in another purse, of course).

The good news is, the iPhone XS takes some pretty dang good photos, I always have a little phone tripod in my car, and the Apple Watch lets you preview and take photos on your wrist! My entire life is a backup plan. So if you’re ever sitting there thinking, “Hmm, the quality of this blog seems to be suffering,” it’s definitely that, and not my eternal laziness.

Faking Fall :: The Sleeveless Sweater

While things have cooled off a bit in Arkansas, we're still hitting highs in the 80's most days. Enter my favorite fake fall trick: sleeveless sweaters. They're great for this time of year, because they give that "fall feel" without completely overheating you. I love them for winter too though, because they fit nicely under jackets. Nobody likes sausage arms.

Tunic, Express (cute similar from Rack!).
Jeggings, Old Navy (I bought two more colors, what? exact here).
Boots, JustFab (similar from Macy's).
Bag, 3.1 Phillip Lim (similar from Kohl's).

AJ Wears :: Cropped Flares

You know me. I'm always down for a trend. I resisted cropped flares as long as I could, until I saw this particular pair of jeans in an Express email. They were on sale, so I ordered a pair and when they came in...they were definitely just flared jeans on a shorty. However, these things are SUPER stretchy and have a nice high rise, so I took a pair of scissors to the bottom to make them a length that works for me.

Chopping the bottoms obviously reduced the flare a bit, which might be a good thing in the long run for wearability. Which is a good thing, since I'll be wearing them every day thanks to how comfy they are.

Bonus story? I decided I wanted a bandana, so I went to Hobby Lobby and bought one for a dollar. Fashion!
