AJ Wears :: Trouser Jeans

Fun fact time! About 7 or so years ago, I was a manager at The Limited. I'd say about 70% of my closet was Limited by the time I left, including a gorgeous pair of trouser jeans in a teensy size 2. Life happens and I eventually grew out of those amazing jeans, which were absolutely perfect for work, weekend and beyond.

When I saw these at The Limited last week, I almost couldn't believe it. The cut has modernized slightly, but the bones are still there. A deep blue wash, pleated front, and a fabulous wide leg (at 40% off, of course). Paired with my favorite Schoolboy blazer from J.Crew? Fall work wear magic, people.

Three more times I wore this J.Crew Schoolboy Blazer:

AJ Wears :: Maroon Pants

I've been on the hunt for a pair of red pants in a cranberry or oxblood.

These are not those pants. The Limited is calling them "red," but I find they skew much more purple-ish, like a deep mauve. I made the same mistake with a pair of pants from J.Crew a month or so ago, so now I have TWO pairs of pants in this dreamy color. I don't mind the mistake, though;  When I saw this pair hanging next to this camisole, I immediately envisioned them like this:

Also, lets talk about the fact that they have pockets, but they ZIP. UP. That way, you can use them if you like or zip them up and avoid the dreaded pocket hips. I'm a fan.

AJ Wears :: White Pants

I almost didn't buy these pants. The first time I found them (on clearance!) at Dillard's, they were WAY too long, even for some of my super high heels. I knew I was unlikely to ever get them hemmed, so I didn't buy them. Fast-forward a few weeks, and I couldn't stop thinking about them, so I dropped by just to see if they were still there. MAGIC AND FAIRY DUST, there they were. I took them straight from Dillard's to the tailor and never looked back. That also encouraged me to finally take my jeans in to get hemmed as well! Win/win/win. I'll skip the part of the day where I fell down a flight of stairs and just pretend like this was the perfect outfit.
