I'll admit it - I did not care about politics the first time I was able to vote. I was actually doing a semester abroad in Australia for the 2004 election and forgot to get an absentee ballot, so I didn't exercise my right to vote until much later. Honestly, I didn't have the time or passion to care until I met my husband, a news junkie who couldn't wait to vote when he turned 18.
I'm glad my husband got me interested in politics. In a world where young people can be so apathetic about so many things, it feels good to care about things.
I'm not going to make this more political than that; a fashion blog is a place for life's daily costumes, not opinions on who should run the country. But it felt appropriate to commemorate what I'm wearing today, which is probably more of a statement than I could possibly write. No matter who you're siding with today, get out there. Vote like your country depends on it.
And also send me all of your pantsuit selfies.
