What to Pack :: A week of outfits

This is a post that would have been a lot more timely and helpful had I posted it before the holidays, but tuck it away for next time you need a lot of outfits using a little bag. We traveled home for the holidays to my parents' house and I packed everything I needed in my Weekender using six pieces of clothing, two pairs of shoes, and some fun accessories!

Skirt, The Limited $30 | Sweater, The Limited $50 | Button Down, Kohl's $10 | Jacket, Dillard's $120 | Leggings, Express $50 | Sweatshirt, Old Navy $30 | Booties, JustFab $40 | Flats, Urban Outfitters $20

All in all, I managed six outfits out of my little bag! The trick was using all neutrals like black, white and grey and then adding just one pop of color with the skirt. One layer, three tops, and two bottoms was enough for the whole week that I felt like I had a little variety without getting repetitive. I've also discovered that packing this way makes for much easier dressing when I'm away from home. When I used to just throw a bunch of junk in a bag and hope for the best, I usually ended up hating everything I packed and feeling like I had "nothing to wear". Packing less actually makes me feel like I have more options, as crazy as it sounds!
