Sometimes I Shop :: Lusting for Leopard

RIP my trusty leopard flats - Zoey the Pug got a hold of them and attacked them like they were her enemy. I have to admit, while they served me well, I was secretly a little excited when she destroyed them, because that meant I have an excuse to go get new ones.

That probably sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? Well, I don't mind admitting I'm a ridiculous person. When it comes to leopard flats, though, they're practically a neutral and therefore a staple. A printed flat instantly chics up a casual errand running outfit, so I'm now on the hunt for leopard! I'm willing to spend a little to get something really great, because I know I'll be wearing these a long time and if they're comfortable, reaching for them again and again. Here are a few pairs I'm eyeing right now.

What do you think? Are leopard flats a staple, or am I just justifying the purchase because my dog tore mine to shreds?? :)

1. Belle by Sigerson Morrison, $260
2. Oasap Limited, $118
3. BIMBA & LOLA, $89
4. Libby Edelman, $50
5. Steven, $91
6. Fiebiger Shoes, $54
7. Dorothy Perkins, $27
8. Vince Camuto, $118
9. Sam Edelman, $120
10. Steve Madden, $90

What I Wore :: Elevator Pants

After about a zillion pins of hunter green pants/jeans, I decided I had to get some for myself. I was ordering a sweater from Forever anyway that I couldn't find in store, and needed like $27 more dollars, so I picked up these Life In Progress skinny chinos.

Tonight we made the short drive out to Conway to watch people do elevator pitches at a competition called "Gone in 60 Seconds" (we've done this before). It's actually a very cool event for local entrepreneurs and tech start-up junkies. Plus, they had food. Chicken parm sammies, yummmm.

Freaking love these pants. I was expecting jeans, so the softer material was a nice surprise and the deep green is just gorgeous. Plus, zipper pockets and up the ankles? Love that! I'm hoping to get a few wears out of them this year. I ordered a size down as suggested, and I suspect they'll stretch to the perfect size after one more wear. Also come in Berry and Amber.

My latest flats from Sole Society - I've been jealous of Sandra's Me Too pointy flats forever now, so when I saw these bowed shiny studded dotted adorable nude flats, I had to snatch them up. Good thing, too. They're fabulous and wonderful and I love them. NEW STAPLE, YAY! Plus they were free after a huge Sole Society contest fiasco, so double yay.

Pants, top, Forever 21. Flats, Marigold by Sole Society. Clutch, Hot Spot by JustFab.

What I Wore :: Stripes and Dots

BB knows the best way to get me dressed and out of the house is with the promise of food. So when he suggested we hit up a local Mediterranean restaurant today, I jumped up and put this on. Good story, right? Whatever. All of my adventures can't be winners.

I love stripes and dots together, and I've been wanting to try the combination ever since I bought this skirt. We didn't do much today but a little furniture shopping and the weekly Target trip. We are two weeks away from the wedding (eek!) so we're shopping around trying to figure out what to do about furniture and appliances once we combine our homes. Getting married is so weird, y'all.

When mixing prints, newbies might want to consider staying in the same color palate. I actually have a navy striped shirt (what color DON'T I have?) that might have matched even better, but this StyleMint Broadway Tee worked just fine.

Look at the cute little bows on these flats. Aren't they presh? I picked them up at Charlotte Russe when shoes were BOGO for $10 so they were a steal. The problem with cheap flats though is that they tend to need more breaking in, so these are still rubbing my heels a bit, to be honest. They come in a few more colors (like Tiffany blue! Get on that!) if you're into shoes with bows.

PS - the Best Buy in North Little Rock sells Mexican Coke. I love the giant bottles and they always taste better and colder than any other Coke. They have a bottle opener at the registers and everything. I find that when I'm shopping for washers and dryers that I need a bit of refreshment, don't you?

Skirt, bag, XXI (love this similar skirt from Asos!). Tee, StyleMint. Flats, Charlotte Russe. Belt, Vintage.
