AJ Wears :: A printed skirt

I've never understood what was classified as "sportswear". It looks like blazers and skirts and khakis to me, but if you asked me what sportswear was, I'd probably say yoga pants. I could google it, but I'm a very busy blogger and have absolutely no time for malarkey like that. The end of this story is, I think these sandals are sporty. Like little basketballs or something. I don't know why, but that's why I'm describing this outfit as sporty. But it's a skirt...so it's also sweet. Get it?

This skirt arrived this weekend from Amazon and I loooooove it. Originally sold for $90, I snagged it for $20. I'm looking to add more fun skirts into my wardrobe, and this one is much nicer than anything I would have found at Forever. Yay, look at me, I'm trying to be versatile and make smarter purchases. Hurrah!

Fun necklace made of rings. I could take it apart and wear them if I wanted to, but then I wouldn't have a necklace. Today we hit up Gap friends and family sale and then ate some burritos at Moe's. This is what you wear  when you do that. LIVING THE DREAM.

AJ Wears :: A black and white blazer

I love blazers. I've always had a thing for them, but my obsession got out of hand after working at The Limited and I started a pretty extensive collection. It might be weird to have 6 different black blazers, but each one has different little details. Anytime I find a blazer with something unique about it, I usually buy it. This one was a steal on super clearance so I got it for like, $10. I love the black and white color blocking. It makes it a little funky.

New wedges from JustFab - I adore this color and thought they were too fun to pass up! They rub a little on the heels though, so I might need to put some moleskin in if I'm planning on walking a lot. I did today. It was a little unpleasant.

Why so dressed up, you might ask? After a week of wearing sweatpants and rolling around in a sickly manner, I suspect BB invited me to lunch just so he could see me in real clothes and make up (and with freshly brushed hair). I'm finally recovering from what I assume was some sort of mutant cold so I met him downtown for a french dip and some iced tea. I also had a business meeting this afternoon that could lead to some fun career opportunities! My line of work always leads to surprising things.

Blazer, The Limited (Pretty close version!).

AJ Wears :: Heart Print Dress

I picked up this dress at Forever a few weeks ago on super clearance - $5! It hasn't been warm enough to wear it yet and I didn't want to wear it with tights, so it's just been hanging in my bedroom waiting for warmer weather.

Welp, it STILL isn't warm enough to wear it. In fact, it was so cold I probably should have been bundled in about 50 layers, but I needed something I could throw on in four minutes and look great. The good news is, I was wearing some panty hose from a photoshoot earlier in the day and I felt confident that I'd be warm enough with those. I'm thinking we should bring them back. They make your legs look great and keep you warm, even if they make you feel about 90 years old.

This outfit took me to dinner and Cirque de Soliel's Quidam. And if you're wondering why my make up looks so ridiculously awesome, that's left over from today's photoshoot too! I did a 40's inspired photoshoot for Arkansas Life today and I'm really looking forward to showing you guys the pics whenever the magazine comes out. I got to do some shots with Sandra from LR Big Style too...most of which involved some form of the robot. We're pretty big dorks. Anyway, the make up artist was fantastic and I never want to wash my face again. We're all cool with that, right?
