AJ Wears :: A Polka Dot Dress

Guys, I’m into dresses again. I went through a pretty heavy pants phase recently but lately I’ve been in a grab-and-go kind of mood and this dress definitely fits the bill. In fact, I wore it at least two or three times in July when I first got it. I don’t know what it is about a magical cloth tube that makes you automatically look like you have your life together, but here we are.

Dress, ShoeDazzle (pretty sure I bought the last one but here’s a cute one from Asos).
Shoes, Everlane.
Necklace, Baublebar.

I’d love to say that this dress is versatile, but to be honest…it’s pretty rinse, wear, repeat. I try to vary it a little with my accessories but for the most part, it looks exactly the same every day. So, I try to not wear it every day. TRY.

AJ Wears :: A Fiesta Dress

Who knew a dress with yarn on the sleeves could be this much fun? SheIn sent me this dress and I had *so* much fun wearing it. I always like to experiment with weird stuff from them, and this was a total hit.

I tossed it on for work, totally forgetting it was our company's big 10th birthday party that day. Not only did I get an insane amount of compliments on it from co-workers, strangers actually stopped me to say how much they loved it. I have to admit, I loved it too - super comfy, fun to wear. And yes...it has pockets. It transitioned seamlessly from work to happy hour that evening, and had I not dropped a meatball on it I probably would be wearing it again today.

And yes, it went perfectly with my work party hat. Boom!

AJ Wears :: A Blue Suit

I've been obsessed with The Bold Type since Hulu recommended it to me a few months ago. If you haven't picked up this show yet, it's like The Devil Wears Prada: The TV show. The fashion is awesome, the storylines are interesting, and the characters are lovable. Yes, even Jan from The Office - she's actually one of the coolest people on the whole show, playing Jaqueline, the editor-in-chief of the magazine where they all work. She's what Miranda Priestly would have been if she'd been allowed to show feelings (or have half a heart).

I'm feeling very Bold Type today. I saw a video of a girl in a blue suit recently and immediately thought, "Oh hey, I need a bright suit." I actually picked this one up from JustFab of all places (it comes in pink too!) and immediately felt like a Jaqueline-meets-HRC vibe. I mean, I only went to work and Happy Hour, but I'm ready to run whatever business you may need me to. Lemme know.

Side note: I also have been VERY inspired by The Bold Type to up my wardrobe game going into fall. I'm talking colors, I'm talking patterns, I'm talking weird puffy sleeves. I filled a cart full of Jane, Kat, and Sutton inspired tops so get ready for some realllllll weirdness up on the blog.
