Things I Wore :: November 2018

November was a weird month for me. It’s a little light on outfits, not gonna lie - between traveling and some health stuff, I did NOT get dressed. A lot. I could have taken daily photos in my amazing onesie from Aerie that I wore 95% of the time, but I’ll spare you and just link it (trust. you need one).

12/1: This is not the last time you will see this outfit. Apparently Skirt + Sweater + Boots is my winter uniform. All I did was go to work and go get sushi.

12/3: Skipped a day working from home, so this is my Saturday outfit! It was a gorgeous day, with lots to do - I early voted, hit up Chili Fights in the Heights (I’m never eating chili again), saw some live music at Harvestfest, and ended the evening with a few old fashioneds at Big Orange.

12/5: Guess I didn’t get dressed that Sunday. Monday just went to work and then did some plate work at Flying Saucer with my co-workers.

12/6: Did I not get dressed again? This month is weird.

12/7: Got this skirt from Atlantic Pacific’s collection with Halogen and I LOVE it. I used to have a green pleated skirt from Forever 21 I loved, and this feels like the slightly more adult version. I’m also really into deep greens this season, apparently.

12/8: One of my favorite giant sweaters for work and a birthday lunch with my friend Candice. We had champagne at work and I was really glad I wore a tank underneath because I got really hot.

12/9: I have discovered my curling wand again. Why am I not doing these Victoria’s Secret waves every day? Work followed by happy hour again for Candice’s birthday, because we celebrate birthdays like champs.

12/10: ???????????

12/11: Sweater + Skirt + Boots. Love this sweater from a Trunk Club from last year. I’ve been watching too much American Horror Story and apparently wanted to do red eye shadow like Michael Langdon. I look like a demon.

12/13: I’m not even going to figure out where these skipped days are going anymore. SheIn dress I couldn’t resist because apparently I’m back into dresses again.

12/18: My hair looks like trash here but I got it done that day, I promise. Still love this dress from Old Navy.

12/21: Super comfy travel outfit for our trip to Oklahoma City for Thanksgiving! Gap workout leggings are my FAVE.

12/26: I told you you’d see this outfit again.

12/27: I guess I’m back on board with the whole leopard print thing! And when I have no idea what to wear on top, it’s 99% of the time going to be this same button up and sweater combo. These pants from SheIn are really cute - but for some reason, my underwear refused to stay up while wearing them. I spent most of the day tugging at them like a weirdo.

12/28: Another Atlantic Pacific x Halogen piece. This sweater is super cute but pills like crazy, so I have to shave it every time I wear it. I really wanted the blazer too but it was a little large and a little pricey for the material.

12/29: Curling wand is out again. I’ve always wanted to wear sock booties with short pants, so here I am.

12/30: Look at me, I’m a rebel in a crop top at work. I ended up sending this skirt back for a smaller size since it was basically falling down by the end of the day, but I love the sweater material and I think it’ll be a nice addition to my winter wardrobe.

See you in December!

AJ Wears :: A Big Sweater

Last season, I rented this sweater from Rent The Runway and fell in LOVE with it. The oversized sleeves. The big, chunky knit. The way it was just long enough to wear with leggings without swallowing me whole. Unfortunately for me, I couldn't find it anywhere. I considered just never sending it back and seeing if they noticed. I scoured the internet for weeks after trying to find it. I even emailed Revolve to see if they could track one down for me from the designer.

And then a magical little sale alert popped into my inbox and told me Urban Outfitters had one in my size - and it was on sale. Twelve seconds later, I had an email confirming my order and I was pleased as punch.

Thanks to a mild winter, I didn't get to wear my beloved big sweater too much, and I suspect this might be the last time I'm in a sweater until next Fall, since it's going to be 80 degrees this week. I'm listening to George Washington sing "One Last Time" as I write this.

What? I'm a little dramatic.

Sweater, Elliatt (rent it // similar from Missguided).
Leggings, Spanx (exact).
Necklace, Fringe (local!).
Boots, Stuart Weitzman (exact, I'm wearing Topo // similar from Kohl's).
Bag, Louis Vuitton Favorite MM.
