AJ Wears :: A Leather Vest

I picked up this vest a couple of years ago from a clearance rack at Dillard's. And it has hung in my closet ever since. I'll occasionally try it on and decide it just makes me look wider than I am and back it goes. But for some reason, when my friend Elizabeth called and said they were headed to Vino's for a little Saturday afternoon fun, I threw it on without any second thought. I added a belt at the last minute for some waist and E said it was one of her new favorite outfits of mine. Perhaps I'll get dressed like I'm meeting my girls in 10 minutes more often.

What's that? New boots? Yes, again (plzdontjudgeme!). Forever 21 had an insane 50% off sale and I'd been eying these a while as a potential cute travel bootie, so I picked them up for $5! Can't beat that with a stiletto.

And after this, we went and got Elizabeth's tragus pierced and then went downtown and ate cheese fries at Dugan's. A fabulous time was had by all.

And when I found this gem on my camera today, I couldn't NOT share it. Why I was doing this, I couldn't tell you. This sort of thing happens sometimes. Happy Monday.

What I Wore :: Snake Pants!

When I was getting ready today, my husband literally asked me, "What's up with those pants?"

I said, "they're snake print" and that was the end of that conversation. I did not need to add that I know that they're ridiculous, and I'll probably only wear them this year, and that they're ridiculous (again) and that I know they're total man repellers. Unnecessary.
See, sometimes as girls we wear ridiculous things. We don't need to explain it, we don't have to have a reason. I like to take fashion risks and do something different. Seeing these in photos, I'm not sure the print is compatible with my thighs, but I had to try it. I'd actually seen an outfit on Pinterest with b/w snake denim and I knew that I could recreate the look with what I had in my closet. Mission accomplished. I sure tried.

And here's a picture where I'm laughing (so Taylor Swift, right?) because I'm convinced that BB is making fun of my pants. He swears he wasn't. Whatever.

What I Wore :: Elephants on Parade

I love the silly printed sweater trend this season (already did it once here). So someone please stop me, I'm going to buy all of them. This one has elephants all over it. It's such a delight. I tried it on and visited it weekly at Forever before finally committing to the VERY LAST ONE when I went shopping last week to reward myself for voting (treat yo self).

I mean, come on. LOOK AT IT. It's a perfect fun color, it's deliciously soft, and the elephants are fun and cute and whatever, I love it. Just add a faux color (this ones from JewelMint - how genius, right?) and whatever you want on bottom. Literally. Pretty sure this sweater goes with everything.

I chose studded loafers in a luscious teal because I was in straight lounging mode all day and wanted to keep comfy. These are definitely the comfiest shoes I own - and some of the sassiest. Great combo, I think. More comfy shoes should be sassy. And boyfriend jeans - because let's face it, it's one step away from wearing pajama pants.
