AJ Wears :: Stripes with Lace

This might be one of those outfits that looked better in my head, or at least better in person. I'm okay with that.

I wore this to book club. I'm in a book club. I'm not sure anyone even reads the books, we just get together and have a glass and eat fantastic food (Trio's this week...amazing!) but it's a fabulous little group of girls and I'm glad they took me in.

And I have no idea what my husband had said to me there to make me make that face, but you're welcome. Also, it shows off my spin pin bun which I was very proud of. I'm thinking I like the spin pins, although it's kind of lame I can only make buns with them.

AJ Wears :: Jeans and a white tee

In the south, brunching is like a sport. Once the weather gets nice, my friends and I can be found on a patio on Saturday and Sunday mornings, sipping mimosas and gossiping over eggs benedict. Sometimes brunch lasts all day and turns into patio hopping (some of my favorite times). Anyway, on this particular brunch outing I couldn't be bothered with finding an outfit, so I went with the old standby for any girl - my most comfortable white tee with some fabulous jeans.

Accessories optional. I added this chunky scarf because it was a little cool in the morning and I figured a bit of color wouldn't hurt. It's big enough that I could use it as a blanket later in the day should I slip into some post-breakfast coma.

Some of the gorgeous ladies I have the pleasure of sharing my brunch table with.

....And this is what happens when you have an audience while you're taking blog photos. I can't remember what caused me to stop and point at whoever that was (I'm assuming they were making fun of me) but I can't share only the decent pictures, right? This blog is all about some awkward, and this is enough awkward for the whole week, I think. You're welcome.

What I Wore :: The Wall

Fun fact : I actually used to be an entertainment reporter (and had a brief stint on the radio, bleh!). So because of that, I occasionally pick up some freelance gigs doing video or talent. I recently made a video for a new online shopping experience called The Wall, which opened officially today at McCain Mall in North Little Rock.

We hit up the kick off party this morning to see how the wall turned out - as you can see, it's huge! It's a super fun concept where you use your phone to scan a QR code and then buy whatever you found on the wall directly on your phone. It's cool because it gives smaller businesses a chance to have a "store front" in the mall that might not have otherwise had the resources or time to.

I don't know what you wear to a mall party, but I picked a bright jacket and some stripes.

Jeans that aren't skinny? What??? I know, it's weird for me too. I pull out my old trusty bootcuts from time to time. I feel like the shape is ridiculously flattering. These are the 678 cut from The Limited - equivalent to their Drew pants if you're familiar.

Adorable QR code cupcakes from Sweet Love Bakes! They were delicious, too.

BB tries out The Wall. I wish he'd gone ahead and ordered those Omaha steaks, that would be delicious for dinner tonight.
