AJ Wears :: A sweatshirt

Y'all, yesterday was the most Monday-ish Tuesday I've ever encountered. In fact, THIS WHOLE PAST WEEK has been disaster week. I'm falling apart. I almost sliced off my finger chopping spinach, I'm pretty sure I injured myself at kettlebell class, and then I totally face-planted in a parking lot while wearing these shoes today. FLATS, YOU GUYS. I went down and both shoes went flying and I just laid on the ground and pretended like I didn't exist while people ran over to see if I was okay. That's it! I'm never wearing flats again! They're dangerous!

 As much as I'd love to just give up and put on pajamas and get back in bed until my vacation next week (whee!), instead I rely on my coziest and comfiest clothes. Enter this sweatshirt. I don't know why I even bought it in the first place, but this is literally the first thing I put on almost every time I'm trying to lounge or veg out and because of that, I felt like I had to show it to you. If I told you I wore a sweatshirt all day every day I don't suspect you'd imagine something this cute, though. The yellow zippers TOTALLY got me. And it almost doesn't touch my body at all. Double bonus.

AJ Wears :: Stripes and a skirt

I hope everyone had a lovely long weekend! Mine was filled with a little furniture shopping and a lot of laying around, of which I am a huge fan. In other news, HAPPY SEPTEMBER! FALL IS HERE! Pumpkin flavored everything! Leaves and orange and boots and fur! GET READY! ...just kidding. It was like 100 degrees here this weekend. We were spoiled with a fall weather preview a few weeks ago so now the anticipation of cooler temps is killing me.

As I get older, it gets more and more obvious that flats are comfortable and necessary. I love my collection of heels, but they aren't super practical for things like running errands. A pair of flats has to be pretty special to make it on my feet though, so I'm always looking for fun flats with great details. These studded flats are cute enough that I actually want to wear them, and don't feel like I have to. I'd actually forgotten about them until I started looking at Valentino flats today (HA LIKE SO NOT HAPPENING) and realized I had something just as cute! I love reconnecting with old favorites.

AJ Wears :: A spring dress

SPRING! SPRING Y'ALL! This dress made a little splash after my drawing of it in my budget post, so I thought it was funny I was wearing it today. After missing out on a b/w striped dress from The Limited, I saw this one at Forever 21 and snatched it up. I told BB it made me feel like I was on a lake picnic or like I should be frolicking on the beach or something. The good news - it's actually from the Love 21 line, so it's big girl sizing! Yay!

I don't wear flats too often, because they bore me. But I'm a smart girl and knew I couldn't last all day at my wedding in heels, so I bought these flats. They're SO CUSHY. And they have bows and sparkles so they're far from boring. If I'm going to do it, imma do it right.

 The end of this story is, I love this dress, it reminds me of Kate Spade for poor people, and it's pretty decently made. I'm already dreaming up other ways to wear it...I do think I'll try to dress it up next time, but a structured bodice + full skirt = classic summer favorite. Until I sweat too much and the stripes all turn yellow. Blast you, Summer! PS - Sorry it's kind of wrinkly. I sit at a desk all day and dog wrangle and I do not steam my clothes after I've already been wearing them. Still holds up pretty decently considering all of that.

Dress, Love 21 (in store, but here's similar in different colors).
Necklace, Target.
