Take One, Day 21 :: Black Pencil Skirt

I've remixed a black pencil skirt once in this challenge. Would you believe me if I told you this was a different skirt? I picked it up at TJ Maxx or Marshall's or one of those such establishments in the clearance section for $4. It has cute little zippers on the sides (huzzah for fun details) and it's made of JERSEY which means it feels like yoga pants, looks like business. Does it get better than that?

I basically rolled out of bed after a late night and threw this combo together for a long meeting today. It was comfy enough for sitting for a few hours but dressy enough that I felt at home in a room full of educators and administrators. Side note, BB spent the day at his Austin office today so I attempted to take my own pics on the street before heading off for happy hour with a few co-workers, and man, there is nothing more terrible or awkward. I tried my best - this is what happened.

Blouse, Forever 21.
Skirt, Super sale.
Belt, Target and it's really, really old.
Shoes, Sole Society.

What I Wore :: Stripes and Dots

BB knows the best way to get me dressed and out of the house is with the promise of food. So when he suggested we hit up a local Mediterranean restaurant today, I jumped up and put this on. Good story, right? Whatever. All of my adventures can't be winners.

I love stripes and dots together, and I've been wanting to try the combination ever since I bought this skirt. We didn't do much today but a little furniture shopping and the weekly Target trip. We are two weeks away from the wedding (eek!) so we're shopping around trying to figure out what to do about furniture and appliances once we combine our homes. Getting married is so weird, y'all.

When mixing prints, newbies might want to consider staying in the same color palate. I actually have a navy striped shirt (what color DON'T I have?) that might have matched even better, but this StyleMint Broadway Tee worked just fine.

Look at the cute little bows on these flats. Aren't they presh? I picked them up at Charlotte Russe when shoes were BOGO for $10 so they were a steal. The problem with cheap flats though is that they tend to need more breaking in, so these are still rubbing my heels a bit, to be honest. They come in a few more colors (like Tiffany blue! Get on that!) if you're into shoes with bows.

PS - the Best Buy in North Little Rock sells Mexican Coke. I love the giant bottles and they always taste better and colder than any other Coke. They have a bottle opener at the registers and everything. I find that when I'm shopping for washers and dryers that I need a bit of refreshment, don't you?

Skirt, bag, XXI (love this similar skirt from Asos!). Tee, StyleMint. Flats, Charlotte Russe. Belt, Vintage.
