My Kia, My Summer :: Roadtrip to Austin

Hi friends! I just got back from a girls' weekend in Austin, Texas! We seriously painted the town red. Holy cow.

My darling little Kia Soul has made the journey many times - it's big enough to carry all of my luggage but small enough that I still get killer gas mileage - and duh, it's adorable. I freaking love this thing. We're all packed up and ready to go! Here are a couple of highlights me & Red hit up this weekend.

Delicious chili cheese dog from Bangers and hula hooping at Lustre Pearl

Toobin' down the Comal in San Marcos - a true Texas experience not to be missed!

Dancing the night away on a rooftop on west 6th.

Brunch on South Congress followed by general malarky.

Pedicab after a long night!

Austin, I love you so much. Almost as much as I love my little red Kia.

Snapshots :: My Week in Austin

Some trips aren't about the fashion. Some trips are about the food, the fun, and the discovery of some place new.

Some trips are about ducking into random shops and buying a few pounds of taffy and some wax lips for the ride home.

Some trips are about foregoing your normal workout routine and chowing down on local flavors without regard for calories or fat.

Some trips are about discovering a little dive bar with giant jenga and playing a tournament (while the locals look on and bet on the winner. It wasn't me).

Some trips, you just gotta jump on your Jackalope and go.

Have you ever taken a spontaneous road trip? Tell me about your adventures! And to finish this blog, here's a picture of my pug helping me drive. She's a pretty good navigator when she's awake. Which isn't often.
